 How to use our Faith

Faith is necessary for one to receive healing. Many people have unconsciously used their faith and have miraculously been healed.

All of us have faith we can use. Our power to believe is a God-given ability. We can choose to believe wrong as easily as to believe right. Faith is a tremendous power that can move mountains, heal diseases, change people's lives and many other things. Faith is obtained by reading God's word. Romans 10:17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”.

Faith is received by obeying God's Word and allowing Christ to dwell as the center of our lives. Now faith must have an object: the object and source of our faith is Jesus Christ (Hebrews 12:2).

Faith is activated by the presence of the Spirit making Christ real to our souls. Faith can and must be exercised. If we do not move a part of our body for any length of time it would get stiff and shriveled. The same thing applies to our faith. Faith must be acted out in practical ways. In the Bible we find incidences of those who exercised their faith and received their healing.

In Mark 5:25-34 we have the incident of a woman who had faith. She did a very significant thing. First, she made a contract with God. She set the time to use her faith in a definite act. She worked her way through the crowd inspite of odds and touched the clothing of Christ. When she did so she released her faith and as a result amazing healing power came forth from Christ to her.

Jesus turned around and said, "Who touched me?" The woman was not the only one who was physically touching Him, but the Lord Jesus Christ distinctly felt her touch. Why? Because she touched Him in faith, believing that she would be healed.

We can do that right now. Reach out now, in faith; set the time to believe; let your faith go to God. He will heal each of us this very moment. We can use our faith in the same way when a man or woman of God lays hands upon us for this purpose (Mt.8:5-13).

In Mathew 8: 5 to 10 we find the incident of a Centurion came to Jesus to ask Him to heal his servant that was home paralyzed and tormented. Upon hearing the request, Jesus was willing and eager to go heal the servant, but the Centurion recognized that it was not necessary for Jesus to be physically present to heal. The Centurion recognized authority when he saw it in Jesus. By understanding the line of authority that Jesus operated in, he knew that Jesus had only to speak the Word and it would be done. Jesus was amazed at the man's depth of understanding of His authority, and noted it by saying He had not found that kind of faith even among the Israelites. Because of the man's depth of faith in Jesus' power and authority, He told the man to go his way, and it would be done for him as he had believed. The servant was healed that very hour, and when the Centurion returned home, he found his servant healed exactly as Jesus had said. Jesus referred to this man's faith as great faith. Why?

He understood authority and power, and trusted the one that had it. God, help us as children of God that are in the family and kingdom of God, to understand what this Centurion understood.

The third incident found in Mark 10:46 – 52 is that of Blind Bartimaeus who was begging along the road outside of Jericho. When he heard that Jesus was coming near him, he stopped begging for food and money and began to cry out with all of his heart to Jesus, asking for mercy. Notice in verse 50 that when he was called to go to Jesus, he cast away his begging garment. This is a significant gesture of his faith that he intended to be healed. Of course, he was healed and Jesus commended him for his faith. Are we willing to let go of our security blanket and allow the King of Kings to be our King in the area of healing

In some cases, we find that praying for some believers is like like praying for a stone or a piece of wood. Such believers never seem to understand that God needs faith for his power to move. There are others however who understand and use their faith to believe that this is their moment to receive healing from Christ.

Why not we be like the above individuals mentioned in the bible and exercise our faith. Remember faith exercised always brings a miracle. Therefore wake up start understanding the word and exercise your faith. Amazing healing power will strike you and your life will never be the same.
