What is God's perfect will
Very often , when the term healing is
used, the first thing we think of is
physical healing. God's will for healing
goes beyond the physical body. Within
the atonement, healing was provided for
the entire man; spiritually, socially,
financially, emotionally, soul (mind and
(thinking), and body.
James 1:4 expresses that the
believer can be "perfect and entire,
wanting nothing".
The word entire is taken from the Greek
word "holokleros" meaning
complete in every part, i.e., perfectly
sound (in body), entire, whole. This
comes with the idea of being whole,
having all its parts sound, perfect.
That which retains everything which was
allotted at the first, wanting nothing
for its completeness, bodily, mental and
moral entireness. It expresses the
completeness of man before the fall. It
is God's desire that man be a complete
being in all areas of his life.
-
First of all God desires that a man be
Spiritually well.
Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by
baptism into death: that like as Christ
was raised up from the dead by the glory
of the Father, even so we also should
walk in newness of life.
The believer has been changed from death
unto life. Therefore we believers should
be walking in newness of life. The word
newness comes from the Greek word "kainotes"
which means renewal, but not simply an
experience but a qualitative change.
This relates to another Greek word "reinos"
which means new, but qualitatively
different. It comes with the idea of the
act of renewing; to dedicate, consecrate
into a qualitative new use.
According to Romans 1:16,the Gospel of
Christ is the power of God unto
salvation. It is the gospel of Christ
that restores us to spiritual
wholeness.The word salvation here comes
from the Greek word "soteria" which
means to rescue or safety (physical or
moral) deliver, health, salvation, save.
This term is from the Greek word "sozo"
which means to save. It comes with the
idea to save (receive salvation) in
regard to:
1. Material and temporal deliverance
from danger, suffering and so forth.
2. The spiritual and eternal salvation
granted immediately by God to those who
believe in Christ.
3. The present experience of God's power
to deliver from the bondage of sin. It
is through the power of the gospel of
Christ that we have been made
spiritually whole. We have been
reconciled to God (Rom.5:10).
-
Secondly God desires that a man be
Physically well.
It is for this reason that he bore all
the sicknesses and curses of man on the
cross.
He became sick and he became a curse so
that we may live a sickness free and a
curse free life forever.
This is something which every believer
should understand very very clearly.
God never desires that man should live
under the power of sickness and curse
-
Thirdly God desires that a man be
Materially well.
Material means his financial situation,
family situation, official situation
etc.
It is important to understand that God
is concerned about the believer’s
financial situation. God's plan is that
man should never live in debt or lack or
want all the days of his life.
God’s plan is that man should always be
well.
In Deut. 4:40 he very clearly describes
his will – “that it may go well with
thee, and with thy children after thee,
and that thou mayest prolong thy days
upon the earth, which the Lord thy God
giveth thee, for ever”.
The only problem here is that though God
has the above desires concerning us
these desires of God are not fulfilled
in our lives automatically.
We have to understand God’s way and
implement it for the desire of God to
manifest in our lives.
